But let's try to not repeat the last two years by taking the time to do things that we love is important – not only for our short-term happiness, but also for our mental and emotional well-being. Here are a few reasons why doing something that you love each day is important.
Lu wanted to find an activity that would naturally heal her body & her mind, as well as ease her into different workouts. In 2010, she found that yoga was the answer. She believes that with commitment, yoga can naturally help build and tone muscle, increase strength & flexibility, teach the effectiveness of breathing during workouts and empower the mind to be capable of anything.

In her own words: “I am an average every day woman, with ups & downs but I’ve always tried to find time for myself in fitness. Sometimes it’s 5am WOD’s, after work or finding myself on my yoga mat. I try to dedicate 1hr a day to myself, once I started doing that & realized it helps me be a better version of me in all parts of my life… I had a complete mindset change.

I couldn’t move my legs after laying down for a nap. I couldn’t understand why. Why someone my age, weighing 120lbs, with a fast metabolism and somewhat healthy eating habits, would have any kind of health issues.
You simply can’t pour creativity out of an empty cup. Whatever you are full of at any given moment is the thing that will spill out the next time to attempt to do your work. Rather than lending your internal real estate to anxiety, resentment and worry - fill it with something that generates creative energy and invention.
In 2018, I began blogging from an internal need to record and share my process. Motherhood, while the greatest accomplishment of my life, shook my creative identity like nothing I’d experienced before. Time was no longer on my side. I was more tired, more emotional and I wondered how many women out there also felt this way?
I woke after an hour nap and tried to get up... but I barely could. I was confused about what was going on. Then I looked at my legs and the left one was swollen. As I tried to stretch, I felt a sharp pain go through my leg... and that’s when I knew something was really wrong.
For me, this meant refocusing my energy and time on something else. I needed to find myself again, but slowly. As they say, Rome wasn't built in one day. I purposefully took one day a week to observe myself. In other words, I did a happiness audit and that's when it happened.
